La Puerta De A Lado
Andrés Calamaro
The Door Next Door
Let time pass by
with my wandering gaze
without any direction
an open book forever
pages torn out
one by one with resentment
In some random place
in a high school
country road
light in the window
shining with the noise
of trucks rolling by.
And at the reception
there's a fake name
no one in the world
knows where I am
(without knowing, without knowing where I am)
and now that I'm alone
with my thoughts
I'll wait for the wind
to come find me
Circular ideas
words that won't stop
spinning inside me
lies and truths
that seem the same
where my drum beats
there's someone out there
talking in the hallway
like they're mocking me
I hear slaps
and the clatter of spoons
and a girl says "yes"
There's a hanging man
in the door next door
who says: please do not disturb
(never again, never again, never again)
and now that I'm alone
with my thoughts
I'll wait for the wind
to come find me
The cold plays against me
and now that there's no one
to help me reconcile with coming back
I'm the empty case of
a guitar that someday
I'll learn to play
Let time pass by
with my wandering gaze
without any direction
an open book forever
pages torn out
one by one with resentment
there's someone out there
talking in the hallway
like they're mocking me
I hear laughter
and the clatter of spoons
and a girl says "yes"
At the door there's
a sign hanging
that says: please
do not disturb, (never again
never again, never again)
and now that I'm
alone with my thoughts
I'll wait for time
to come find me
The cold plays against me
and now that there's no one to help me reconcile with coming back
I'm the empty case of a
guitar that someday
I'll learn to play
Waiting for the wind
to come find me.
