Por Una Cabeza
Andrés Calamaro
By a Head
By a head of a noble colt
That just loosens up at the finish line.
And upon returning seems to say
Don't forget brother, you know what to play.
By a head, the badger of a day
Of that flirtatious and smiling woman.
Who, while swearing with a smile the love she's wearing
Burns all my desire in a bonfire.
By a head, all the craziness
Her kissing mouth erases the sadness, calms the bitterness.
By a head, if she forgets me, what does it matter
To lose my life a thousand times, why live?
So much disappointment for a head
I swore a thousand times not to insist again.
But if a glance led me to pass by
Her fiery mouth, I want to kiss again.
Enough of races, the gambling is over
A close finish I won't see again.
But if some horse turns out to be a winner
Sunday, I'll bet everything, what can I do?
By a head, all the craziness
Her kissing mouth calms the sadness, erases the bitterness.
By a head, if she forgets me, what does it matter
To lose my life a thousand times, why live...
