Bales de Palla
Anegats
Straw Bales
What do you see in those clouds? What do they tell you? What do they draw?
It's as if a witch has bewitched me!
Almond trees that bloom, painting everything white and
purple...but...wake up! they are ephemeral flowers, and the wind
will take them away....
And the landscape transports me, and urges me not to
stop looking at it....
And from the sky I see fields like colorful pieces,
And spots that are straw bales.
All framed in blue, the sea, of course!
Mediterranean island like no other..
And I realize that I can't find anything better.
Far from home, I've learned to appreciate it.
Four islands where the sea is no barrier,
that was, and they were not, the Balearic Islands.
Flanked by two beautiful Pityuses and a Menorca.
Mallorca crowns, sunny archipelago
And proudly the islets that guard them raise their heads:
Sa Conillera, Sa Dragonera and also S'Espalmador.
And what a smell of village chimneys, of noble spirit.
Of heritage from tomorrow.
