La Democracia

How beautiful democracy is
In this beautiful country
How beautiful the mushrooms are
That can be built

It allows the poor
And the rich on equal terms
To have the same rights
When they call to vote

I am a democrat, technocrat
Plutocrat and hypocrite

I like democracy
Because it allows us to appreciate
The overwhelming progress
Of those who have freedom
To exploit a few
And increase their capital

Also our rights
And I say it very happily
Allow blacks and whites
To admire the monuments

And without class problems
Or religious creeds
We can see on the Moon
When the monkeys arrive
And in the stands or gallery
See Colo Colo triumph

I like democracy
In winter and summer
The cops target practice
With young libertarians

Of course some rotten ones
Who starve themselves
Out of envy surely
Would like this to change
To the population I say:
Let the dogs bark

I like democracy
I say it with dignity
If you hear the sound of sabers
It's just a coincidence
