Llega la mañana
Ángel Parra
Morning comes
Morning comes,
we have to get up,
wash our face
and also comb our hair.
I don't like this,
it's all tangled up,
my hair complains,
it's been hurt.
I go to school,
the bell rings,
I get punished
for running in.
Finally, recess,
I didn't bring string,
nor a ball,
what are we going to do?
Let's make a circle,
let's make it, then,
for rice pudding,
for San Miguel.
When I get back home
I do my homework,
and drink the milk
my grandma gives me.
