a clever young lady,
I've been a dancer
and a poster artist.
I'm a singer

and my name is Lolita...
to serve you, sir.
I sing "The African Woman,"
Lucia di Lammermoor,
and cheeky little songs
I sing with passion.
I know every language,
I speak French quite well
and for a little flirt,
I'm a chipper girl.
I have little eyes,
so dark and so pretty
and they're quite mischievous
when I wink like this,
that all the gentlemen
to whom I sell flowers
give me their affection
with wild frenzy.
Every afternoon
along the Avenue
I know my route
like the back of my hand
and to the little chicks
and sharpeners,
I know how to sell
them my fresh flowers.
Who wants to buy this little bouquet
so lovely and so fresh?
Violets and jasmines,
of superior scent!
Look at this beauty,
what a fragrant rose,
it's a wonder
that’s spreading love!
