Voglia di vivere
Angelina Mango
Craving to Live
I don't need any of the things
This morning I was going to work
I thought I'm not like them
I'm a fountain pen
Ink on other people's skin, a means to make sense
Of the dirty earth on the hands of those digging into mental problems
We turn into fine powders, fine powders while we become children again
We all have a distant family that leaves us with the saltiness
We crave to live, fear of dying
Sometimes the opposite, sometimes just a desire to make love
I dive headfirst into things
I'm like a rock, you're the next wave
You're all the roads I haven't taken
And I almost have the craving to live on me
And it doesn't matter if I'm hungry or sleepy
Today I realized I no longer need these things
Taratatata-tarattatata-tarattatata
You're all the roads I haven't taken
Taratatata-tarattatata-tarattatata
I almost have the craving to live on me
I feel like the girl next to me
She's texting the guy, I can tell by her smile
And I feel like her
Who only needs his chest
Under her head, a protected space
Or maybe she craves money or sex
Yes men, a huge house
Sure, that wouldn't be bad either
But you know, not today
I just wish I had your appearance
To like myself as much as I like you
You're all the roads I haven't taken
And I almost have the craving to live on me
And it doesn't matter if I'm hungry or sleepy
Today I realized
What did I realize? Nothing!
Taratatata-tarattatata-tarattatata
You're all the roads I haven't taken
Taratatata-tarattatata-tarattatata
I almost have the craving to live on me
All the roads I haven't taken
And now I have the craving to live on me
And it doesn't matter if I leave or return
If I'm hungry or sleepy
I almost have the craving to live on me
