Innocent Breath
Indians, Indians; wounded culture, bleeding culture,
culture in ruins, sacred culture burning in flames,
clouds of smoke cover the face of anguish;
stone and stick resisting the sword, the malice
of the peoples unleashed, harmony was
buried, destroyed.
Riddles of understanding feed the confusion distrusting what they saw as good and deceived them, with the cross, with the god, with what dazzled them, a trap that destiny set and no one saw.
Innocent breath, falsehood before their eyes, falsehood on their backs.
Indians, Indians; clouds of smoke cover everything,
stone and stick resisting, malice unleashed,
harmony buried, destroyed.
Riddles of understanding feed the confusion distrusting what they saw as good and deceived them, with the cross, with what dazzled them, a trap that destiny set and no one saw.
Innocent breath, falsehood before their eyes, falsehood
on their backs.
