Vento Selvaggio
Antonello Venditti
Wild Wind
Sky of an August night,
with a shower of stars
falling down on us,
outside the lights of the harbor,
it's the scent of myrtle
that confuses your body
naked above me.
Love me like this if you want me,
with the sweetness of your love,
with the anger and the pain.
Take me like this if you want me,
with my tears and sweat,
like a fruit of passion.
It's the silence of this sea
that in the dark keeps us sailing further.
Now this wild wind
that lifts us higher,
like a river weightless
and then even higher
on the wings of a hawk,
breathing in courage
to fly again
up high, up high, even higher.
Sky in the August night,
in the shower of stars
falling down on us,
right above us.
Love me like this if you want me,
with the sweetness of your love,
with joy and with pain.
Take me like this if you want me,
with my tears and sweat,
like a fruit of passion.
It's the silence of this sea
that in the sky keeps us sailing further.
