The Church on Its Knees
James is killed by the sword, by order of King Herod
Herod consumed by hatred, wants to destroy the church
And sends his soldiers to arrest Peter
And now what to do if Peter is in prison?
And now what to do if the church is without the shepherd?
But the church knew, it did not forget
And its greatest weapon was to cry out to its God
And incessantly the church begins to pray
Peter is in prison, and the church on its knees
Peter remains in prison, But the church continues on its knees
And God answers the church's cry, and sends the angel to release Peter
And upon being freed, Peter goes to the house, where he finds the church gathered in prayer
And he knocks on the door and says: It's me, Peter
And the disciples say they don't believe it's Peter
But Rhoda the woman says: Yes, I recognize the voice of my shepherd
And they open the door, and it was indeed Peter, who was freed by the Lord
Because there was a church that was constantly on its knees
When the church prays it's only victory, it's only victory
When the church prays it's only victory, it's only victory
When the church prays, it's only victory
If the enemy rises: The church prays
If illness comes: The church prays
If there is persecution: The church prays
Because it knows it is victorious!
If sin plagues: The church prays
If coldness takes over: The church prays
If they want to silence the church, that's when it prays
This is the church that does not sell out, that does not corrupt
That does not bow to the system of men
We are part of a church that is on its knees
