A Temblador

So tired of the same old routine, thinking from corner to corner where I lift my heart
I grab my old cuatro and a Sabanero band that plays with good flavor
I put on my espadrilles, clear my throat well, and I pray to the creator
And without thinking twice, no matter who it bothers, I'm off to the Shaker

They treat me better there
'Cause I’ve earned the applause since I was a sower
How it all started that brought me to this place
Well, my friend Magni Torres invited me here
I arrived one morning before the sun even rose
Magni Junior welcomed me with plenty of grace
To celebrate my arrival, they fried up a big dish
They made a sweet coffee with papelón
People started showing up, there was a buzz
Some grabbed a cuatro, others beer and rum
And the party kicked off with respect and lots of love
'Cause there were many girls who looked like flowers
Each one said to me, welcome to the Shaker

I’m gonna keep on this theme, sharing this poem with all my inspiration
To a hospitable, hardworking, honest people of beautiful faith
It belongs to Monagas, on the way to Tucupita you’ll find the Shaker
And today I wanted to say that their patronal festivals are unmatched

They awakened my passion
Their women are sweeter than melon pulp
They have a honeycomb inside their hearts
I liked the one in a skirt, in a dress and pants
And I won’t deny that I found love there
The same day I arrived, there were poets galore
Each one did their thing, and it was my turn
When I got on stage, I was overwhelmed with emotion
'Cause I never expected such a huge ovation
My harpist Gustavo Vélez pulled the strings just right
So I could sing with good motivation
I started adding flavor to all my verses
And throwing out those compliments I have in every song
Love started pouring down, I soaked in its warmth
Today, being so far away, I feel a deep pain
'Cause one is like a dog, a bad comparison
Since it longs to be where it’s treated better
When I go to bed, I always raise a prayer
Asking the God of heaven to bless this region
And allow me a thousand times to return to the Shaker.
