Dos Angelitos

From where God lives, they sent two little angels
They would travel on a star, the one we call a little bag
One says to the other, better go alone
While the other replies, I'm not going anywhere

I'm not going anywhere
I'll stay here in heaven
Next to Jesus Christ
Here we live happily because this is paradise
The other says the same, very sad and subdued
We know that down on earth everything is strange and different
They kill each other sometimes just for whims
Countries against countries, ministers against ministers
And in heaven we don't fight because we all love each other

A sweet and subtle voice is heard in that place
Father God appears and says to his little angels
You must travel far from paradise
Crossing the barrier of time and infinity

Of time and infinity
He makes their wings disappear and makes them tiny
Through thought, he speaks with the little angels
If it's up to me, don't worry because I'll be everywhere
If you trust me, we'll always be together
Meanwhile, on earth, a woman screams
She's having contractions and they attend to her quickly
At the same time in heaven, the angels hurry
Those beings cried when they separated from Christ
Who will take care of us down there like you do, dear God?
Meanwhile, God answers in a very sweet tone
Two earthly angels with very pure hearts
Will take care of both so they're not alone
One will be called mom, she'll give them beautiful love
She'll be like a tigress caring for her cubs
The second of the two will love them just the same
They'll call him dad and he'll give them strict love
And down on earth, they'll be called siblings
Then the pair of angels hold hands
And when they're born into this world, only one saying was heard
Long live all twins, long live the little dark-haired ones
While God said in heaven, long live my little angels
