Carrossel do Destino
Antonio Nóbrega
Destiny's Carousel
I leave the verses I wrote,
The songs I sang,
Five or six things I know
And a million I forgot.
I leave this world behind,
A jungle with casino laws;
I'll be reborn as a child,
In a country beyond the sea...
Excuse me, I'm going to ride
On destiny's carousel.
As long as I can live
Everything the heart feels,
Time will be present
Passing without resistance.
When the time comes for me to depart
To the divine clouds,
May the guitar be the bell
Playing to guide me...
Excuse me, I'm going to ride
On destiny's carousel.
Romances and epics
Begging me to sprout,
And I gently drive
The herd of ideas.
Always in search of beehives
Where the finest honey springs,
And just one verse, so small,
But deserving to stay...
Excuse me, I'm going to ride
On destiny's carousel.
