Chuquicamata

Chuquicamata
Chuquicamata, Chuquicamata, Chuquicamata, Chuquicamata.
In the copper province I was born,
Chuquicamata is the name where I grew up,
Seeing the bare earth, with its sands no one imagines,
That from its soils is extracted,
Good copper,
That gives us life.
Yes sir.
My land is full of peaks like a bowl,
Few little houses and a strange barren hill.
And around my Chuquicamata,
Songs that cheer the heart.
Everyone, let's all drink to Chuquicamata,
But first and foremost, I am Chilean.
Music.
I passed through La Serena in Coquimbo,
Land of rich battles and good honey,
Then I came across the wines,
Town of clams, sea urchins, and sea snails,
And without stopping in La Ligua due to my fears of earthquakes.
Yes sir.
In La Calera, one feels the mineral,
It's the hardest cement for building.
And around my Chuquicamata,
Songs that cheer the heart.
Everyone, let's all drink to Chuquicamata,
But first and foremost, I am Chilean.
The capital is Santiago, yes sir,
I am Chilean twice,
With double honor.
San Cristóbal rises to reach the Virgin Mary
And from above one looks with joy at Santa Lucía.
Yes sir.
And a few hours from our capital,
With its flower gardens, Viña del Mar.
And around my Chuquicamata,
Songs that cheer the heart.
And around my Chuquicamata,
Songs that cheer the heart.
Everyone, let's all drink to Chuquicamata,
But first and foremost, I am Chilean.
And around my Chuquicamata,
Songs that cheer the heart.
And around my Chuquicamata,
Songs that cheer the heart.
And around my Chuquicamata,
Songs that cheer the heart.
And around my Chuquicamata...
