La Última Montaña
Antonio Vega
The Last Mountain
She doesn't know that I saw
motionless and all gray,
I took the path to the place
on the mountain.
That night I spent
listening to the water flow,
feeling a huge attraction
to the mountain.
I walk without seeing the end
and the step I haven't taken yet is already behind,
Am I getting there? Or have I already arrived?
Like the rivers, I promised
to never go back,
but they fall, let go, while I
must overcome my weight.
Sand that gives way as I walk,
Walls that allow themselves to be embraced,
It seems like the summit is close,
Closer than yesterday.
The last mountain remains
in front of you,
the last mountain is
very close to you.
The sun no longer shows itself,
the night is ebony,
I feel the living and ghostly
of the mountain.
I walk without seeing the end
and the step I haven't taken yet is already behind,
I'm getting there and I've already arrived
a little closer than yesterday.
The last mountain remains
in front of you,
the last mountain is
very close to you.
