Pica Do 7
António Zambujo
7's Ticket Puncher
Early in the morning I jump from the nest
And head to the stop
With a headband waiting for the 7 but not for the ride
I really didn't want to
But one day I saw it pass by
And my skeptical heart, for a tram ticket puncher
Started dreaming again
With each ring, that sounds from the click
Of that pliers
In a frenetic way, the skeptical heart sounds the alarm
If the train derails, people complain
And I'm in a bell
Because a mere journey in my specific case
Is already destiny
No one believes the state my heart is in
When the 7 catches me
I even think the ticket jumps out of my hand
Because in the career of this vain life
Nothing gives me the thrill that the 7's ticket puncher gives me
What a sad fate and what an unhappy itinerary
To cross my schedule
With that of a Carris train employee
If I asked him
If he has a free pass to someone's heart
Who knows
Maybe I'll punch his heart too
No one believes the state my heart is in
When the 7 catches me
I even think the ticket jumps out of my hand
Because in the career of this vain life
Nothing gives me the thrill that the 7's ticket puncher gives me
