La Luna Cadrà

The Moon Will Fall
Sad winter evening,
All alone, I watched the moon,
Convinced and sure it would shine that night,
But the moon was gone,
It lay at the bottom of the big blue sea.
Now sad and tired,
She doesn’t know what to do,
Since all the men have stopped looking at her,
Envy and arrogance don’t bring happiness,
And in our blue sky, the moon will no longer shine.
And so
The moon will fall,
The moon will fall, the moon will fall,
It will leave behind tonight's sky.
On summer nights,
When the earth basks in the sun for a day,
You wait for hours for the moon and its glow,
The wind will bring freshness to the evenings,
The moon and magic will suddenly begin everything.
Tell me how it would be if there were no moon in this sky,
A mistress that takes away everyone’s fear,
Fear of the dark that will soon return and in our blue sky,
The moon will no longer shine.
Life has always given me so much,
All the emotions I feel when I sing,
All the beauties of this land are enchanting,
When I’m by the sea with friends, I’m happy,
I always hold the moon close inside,
The days that pass are never the same as the last,
I wait patiently for the month, the day,
Because everything can get better in this world.
