A Lei de Deus
Arautos do Rei
The Law of God
The law is holy and good, it offers protection
And reveals all the evil that's hidden in our lives
It works like a mirror, showing our transgressions
The righteous take delight in obeying this law
The end of God's law and His just commandments
Is to preserve the love of a pure heart
To have a clear conscience and faith without pretense
It's not, therefore, a means to give us salvation
Though it doesn't play the role of saving us
The law is the great code of relational love
Those who are saved by grace will naturally align
They'll adjust to it in a way that's just right
Without the law, there can be no transgression
There can't be sin without a moral standard
And if there's no sin, then what's the grace and forgiveness for?
The law points out the errors in our fight against evil
The law of our God requires a level of obedience
That the natural man is unable to present
It's just and eternal, it remains in effect
So there's only one way to keep the law
It's to go indirectly to Christ in our imperfection
And receive in life His merits of love
It's to have our being changed through justification
That faith enables those who believe in the Savior
Though it doesn't play the role of saving us
The law is the great code of relational love
Those who are saved by grace will naturally align
They'll adjust to it in a way that's just right
Without the law, there can be no transgression
There can't be sin without a moral standard
And if there's no sin, then what's the grace and forgiveness for?
The law points out the errors in our fight against evil
