A Mi Madre
Arelys Henao
To My Mother
There is the painting on the white wall
It's the most beautiful memory of her
That's the photo I always kept
When my mother was a maiden
Time flies leaving the marks
Of clean hands that caressed me
And in her face those nights
Mother's sleepless nights that never failed
And so I remember the childhood times
What times those were that never faded
And you guided me on a good path
Looking for the star that I hold in my hands today
But a good thief arrived at your door
And has stolen a piece of your life
Everything is written in God's laws
I'm not by your side but I'm your daughter
Thank you dear mother!
Even if I'm not with you
I always carry you in my heart
My happiness is immense
Knowing I have such a good mother
She hugs me and starts to cry
Sometimes I think she hides a sorrow
We all grow up beside them
And eventually they are left alone
Just like the wind that comes and goes
That's how children are, always waiting for them
But I always look at my mother
As the most beautiful, a piece of heaven
And wherever I go, I take her with me
And may God bless what I love the most
But a good thief arrived at your door
And has stolen a piece of your life
Everything is written in God's laws
I'm not by your side but I'm your daughter
