Sacrilegio

Before the shrine of your love, I knelt down
Before the altar of your charms, I surrendered
With the host of your kisses, I communed
In the court of your skin, I confessed

Blinded by love, I followed your light

Like Simon of Cyrene, I helped you bear the cross
And on that very cross, you hung me without mercy

You were my faith, you were my creed and my prayer
My open psalm, my rosary, my truth
My holy water, my kindness, my religion
My penance, my cry, my communion
And that myth that is worshipped in the vastness

What a sacrilege, what an injustice I committed
Dressing your terrifying figure as an angel
I, the sinner, confess my faults here
And in that temple I built for you yesterday
Today, on my knees, I repent of my mistake

From the cruel crown of thorns, I freed you
And those thorns now cause me more pain
And you kissed me sweetly, but for what?
If just like Judas, you gave me the traitor's kiss
