The zamba began and with the handkerchief
I invited you to dance it and it was like a plea
When you approached, almost breathless
With much embarrassment, you said let's dance
And so we started dancing the zamba
Putting in the dance, body and soul

I sensed you like a dove on the prowl
In the half turn, I stood by your side
