Adiós, Carnaval
Ariel Rot
Goodbye, Carnival
I gave myself to your feet
To your head as well
I dragged myself all summer, chasing you.
I played the bad boy, the faithful pup
Like a cat on the roof
You told me "no way"
It didn’t take long to learn how low you can fall
And when the lesson ended, there was nothing left,
Nothing safe around me.
Goodbye carnival,
You cover my eyes with your red scarf and you’re gone
Dressed up in joy, I’d go to hell
Behind you a thousand times more.
Goodbye carnival
My instincts are signaling me but I know there’s no turning back
You know what you’re doing when you start this journey
Behind you a thousand times more.
I gave myself to your feet
I set myself on fire again
And when you sent me to the front
I understood everything the wrong way
I played the bad boy, the cruel poet
Out of my mind and twisted
You told me "no way."
