Liar
I didn't want to lie
you made me a liar;
Today I say what you want to hear
as an act of mercy.
I didn't want to run away
you made me a fugitive;
just to avoid arguing
I make up some excuse.
So I keep being
the same as I have been;
and if I'm different
it's only with you.
In order to draw
a smile on your face,
lying became an exercise
I'm a liar.
A lie that makes you happy
is worth more than a truth that embitters your life.
A lie will make my nose grow
in exchange for freedom
and holding onto my life.
What do I do to make you understand
that if I lie it's because you would never believe
that wherever I am
I'll always be thinking of you.
What fault do I have
for the crime and the punishment;
for believing that for love
we stop being friends.
If you noticed me
it wasn't for being a saint;
what you liked about me
now makes you cry.
Why do I start a war
by being sincere to you;
lying is a way
to say I love you.
Just to not be the target
of your worst angers;
I lie like a sick person
and looking into your eyes.
A lie that makes you happy
is worth more than a truth that embitters your life.
A lie will make my nose grow
in exchange for freedom
and holding onto my life.
What do I do to make you understand,
that if I lie it's because you would never believe
that wherever I am
I'll always be thinking of you.
