Aquí En El Salvador

Here In El Salvador
Yesterday I wrote a song, dedicated to a nation,
More than just the headline in the newspapers, and a visible war between brothers,
Yesterday I wrote a song, dedicated to El Salvador.
Had to dodge two bombs and a rifle to be here
I come armed with a guitar and a song to share,
Bringing a message of peace, not a shooting star,
Your children want to dream, here in El Salvador.
I've been told by the newspapers that it's been a hundred years,
The grandmothers cross themselves and wonder when it will end,
To me this is not strange, to say it would be a lie,
We live almost the same, here in the neighborhood.
Let's join hands, let's be brothers,
This has to end,
This is your land, don't provoke war,
Where will we end up,
Your children want to dream, here in El Salvador.
This is a reflection that becomes an opinion,
That comes from the heart and doesn't evade the situation,
Offering to brainwash, very sad to do it with memories,
Just know that I, believe in El Salvador.
Let's join hands, let's be brothers,
This has to end,
This is your land, don't provoke war,
Where will we end up,
Your children want to dream, here in El Salvador.
Let's join hands, let's be brothers,
This has to end,
This is your land, don't provoke war,
Where will we end up,
Your children want to dream, here in El Salvador,
Here in El Salvador.
