Historia Del Portero
Ricardo Arjona
Doorman's Story
I was the doorman of building 32
You were the bourgeois, the princess of the penthouse
That's how God wanted it
I greeted you with my scared face
While asking God to cover the toilet
So I could take a look
Or send you to the supermarket
To help you carry your groceries
I was a silent witness to your parties and adventures
I met two doctors, a teacher, and even a priest
And one day, peeking through the crack
I saw you having a snack with the man from the 6th floor
While his wife wet the negligee
You're destroying the building
Penthouse girl
And the whole city
You're destroying the building
Penthouse girl
Why not with me?
Every day I waited for 9 o'clock
To go to the backyard and wait by the window
For your morning bath
How sad it was to see that shadow undress
12 floors away from my strongest desire to touch you
But what could I do?
I let my imagination run wild
While my heart was already pounding
You're destroying the building
Penthouse girl
And the whole city
You're destroying the building
Penthouse girl
Why not with me?
I've fallen in love with you
Tell me now what to do
I smoke like crazy and stopped eating
I told her point-blank
She slapped me, dislocating my love
That's what I get for wanting to give life the taste
Of a mix of classes
And even though I know I'll never be able to kiss her
It's okay because that's how God wanted it
