Numa Cidade Muito Longe Daqui - Polícia E Bandido
Arlindo Cruz
In a City Far Away From Here - Police and Bandit
One day things got heated, all hell broke loose
police and bandit met and clashed head-on
and then folks, it was a hot mess,
a hot mess, a hot mess!
head-on collision
the bandit and the sub-lieutenant from the battalion
shots fired back and forth
stray bullets in the air
till silence screamed
two bodies on the ground, what bad luck
injured in the same ambulance, a killing pain
even keeping the distance, couldn't keep quiet
police and bandit exchanged barbs
barbs that seemed more like bullets
and the bandit said like this
you took so much of my money
and now you come trying to arrest me
I warned you, you didn't hide
look where we are now
praying to God for the body to resist
is he willing to listen?
you have so many bazookas, pistols, rifles, and grenades
tell me why do you have so much ammunition
it's because besides you, we also face another command, another faction
only bloodthirsty Germans
a bunch of arrogant fools wanting to mess around
that's why I'm pissed off like this
I'm pissed off too
it's because the judiciary is all bought
and the legislative is financed
and the poor worker who throws his vote in the trash
I don't know if out of anger or just for the sake of it
blames everything on the men in the paddy wagon
they blame everything on the population
and if I die, another will come in my place
and if I die, they'll decorate me
and if I die, will they remember
and if I die, will they cry
and if I die
and if I die
and if I die
and if I die
enough of being subjudged
subtracted
undernourished
a sub-bandit from a sub-place
a sub-lieutenant from a sub-country
sub-unhappy
but this story I repeat
happened in a city far away from here
that has slums that look like the slums here
that has problems that seem like the problems here
