Pintje drinken

Drinking a Beer
In the Bruges catechism it is written short and sweet
That one must feed those who hunger, and quench the thirst of those who thirst.
Cheers to a beer, drink a beer, boys what a bliss,
We partake in that second act of mercy.
Frothy beer, what a delight, brown belly with a white collar.
Come on Karleentje, pour another one, fill the glasses to the brim!
Even our Lord at the wedding turned water into wine.
Too bad we couldn't be at the table in Cana back then.
Cheers to a beer, drink a beer, boys what a bliss,
We partake in that second act of mercy.
Frothy beer, what a delight, brown belly with a white collar.
Come on Karleentje, pour another one, fill the glasses to the brim!
When the hypocrites drink water, Saint Peter laughs in heaven,
For the feast there is eternal rice pudding with monk's beer!
Cheers to a beer, drink a beer, boys what a bliss,
We partake in that second act of mercy.
Frothy beer, what a delight, brown belly with a white collar.
Come on Karleentje, pour another one, fill the glasses to the brim!
