Taking an exam in life
That I have lived with you, Jesus
I realize that I still need to learn
To forgive with you
I am surrounded by struggles and wars
Although I am no longer in darkness
And that's precisely why I ask you, O Christ
To dominate my being

I have your divine example even though in
Time I don't remember to appropriate
Looking at the cross where you were
I saw that you forgave those who hurt you
Not everything you want I do
But in a hug I feel
Your holy forgiveness

Oh, grant that even when wounded
I can, Lord, embrace my brother
