Entro El Invierno
Armando Martínez
Winter Comes In
Winter comes in
The smell of cedar is already here
The savannah is covered in little white flowers
The night owl says it's time to whistle
Gathering the heifers and cows
And the cowboy tells his stories
Rocking in a hammock
Winter comes in
The smell of cedar is already here
The savannah is covered in little white flowers
The night owl says it's time to whistle
Gathering the heifers and cows
And the cowboy tells his stories
Rocking in a hammock
All the birds of the mountain
Some whistle and others sing
And the horse in the corral
Neighs and jumps the bars
Because the water entries
Leave the fillies dry
And the rain is ready
To make the girls fall in love
They at the water entries
Don't lose hope
Of marrying a farmhand
One of those who tame and lasso
In the stream the birds are arriving
Night herons, ducks, ibises, and herons
On the road you see traces of animals
Of deer, peccary, capybara, and tapir
And a cowboy is marking
The footprints without sandals
In the stream the birds are arriving
Night herons, ducks, ibises, and herons
On the road you see traces of animals
Of deer, peccary, capybara, and tapir
And a cowboy is marking
The footprints without sandals
With the heavy downpours
The savannahs overflow
The cattle seek the dry spots
The armadillo to the ravine
And in those dark blankets
A chorus of parrots
More native than this passage
I don't think anyone sings it
It has a good voice tone
And a throaty ring
And it's well accompanied
By harp, cuatro, and maracas
(And the bass as a complement)
