For all that you gave me in the ending year.

Thank you for the sunny days
And the sad cloudy ones
For the calm evenings
And the dark nights.

Thank you for the health
And for the sickness
For the sorrows
And the joys.

Thank you for all that you lent me
And then asked back.

Thank you, Lord
For the kind smile and the friendly hand
For love, and for all that is beautiful,
And for all that is sweet
For the flowers and the stars,
For the existence of children,
And of good souls.

Thank you for the solitude,
For the work, for the worries,
The difficulties, and the tears,
For all that brought me closer to you.

Thank you for preserving my life
And for giving me shelter, warmth, and sustenance.

Thank you, Lord. Thank you, Lord...

What will the new year bring me?
Whatever you want, Lord
But I ask for faith to see you in everything
Hope to not falter,
And charity to love you more each day
And to make you loved by those around me.

Give me patience, and humility,
Detachment, and generosity.

Give me, Lord,
What you know is good for me
And I do not know how to ask for
May my heart be alert,
My ears attentive,
My hands and mind active
And may I always be ready to do
Your holy will.

Pour out, Lord
Your graces upon all whom I love,
And grant your peace to the whole world.

So be it.
