Soneto Para Reguera (poema)
Atahualpa Yupanqui
Sonnet for Reguera (poem)
If a sad guitar told me
That it doesn't want to die in sadness,
I would start praying over its wound
Just to regain its spring.
If a troubadour asked me
For a little light in his life,
The whole jungle turned into fire
I would offer for his heart.
But, it was of little value the proclaimed
Strength of my desire, if silently
Death took you, Daniel Reguera.
Your zamba passes through the dark night,
And the echo of your voice in the plain
Keeps searching for light and spring.
