Tiro Por La Culata
Luis Eduardo Aute
Backfire
They say the strategists out there
That in the fight the best defense is the attack
That to win, the wise thing is to prevent
The enemy from being the first to check
And considering that fierce sharks are lurking
We must prepare for battle
I tear out my soul and disguise myself as a scoundrel
And bring out the cannons
And I shoot, I shoot, I shoot
To see if I kill some rat
But since I don't see very clearly
I end up putting my foot in it
And the shot always backfires
I go out predisposed to be more venomous
Than Machiavelli's virulent brain
I want to be more treacherous than the handkerchief
Of Desdemona in the hands of poor Othello
And to those who want to crown Aconcagua
At the cost of climbing over my kidneys
Let them prepare to sing their prayers
Not a drop of water for the mountaineer!
I swear by Saint Vitus that my goal is to be
The bodyguard of the girl from Corleone
And when I sniff that I'm being cornered
I turn into a killer like Stallone
I tell them: Wretches, you are vampires
And I hope you fall like flies
But suddenly the Machine Gun jams on me
And I riddle myself with bullets
