Todo Es Mentira
Luis Eduardo Aute
Everything Is a Lie
I armed myself to the teeth
And with what they call hero's courage
To not slow down towards a goal
That I never really pursued
After falling seven hundred times
I made the opponent lose their footing a bit
And instead of feeling proud of the feat
I wondered why
To answer myself: I don't know
Everything is a lie except you
And if you were, I beg you, lie to me
Kiss me and tell me: Everything is a lie
Except you
I wanted to believe some promises
That talked about things that needed to change
Faith, which was scarce, barely had time
To approach any altar
Things changed but the opposite
Following the rules of the juggling game
Pink cats came out of the hat
Gray, mauve, to hunt
The first mouse willing to talk
I don't know the meaning of life
Or what coincidence separates good from evil
I don't know if this body that encloses me
Is born from something more than a mineral
What I have no doubt about
Is that I commit the original sin
When every night the body you offer me
Is not a statue of salt
But earthly paradise
