Un Soplo de Alegria
Luis Eduardo Aute
A Breath of Joy
I want to escape as soon as possible
From the inhospitable harmony
Of sadness like slabs
And unconfessed cowardice
Waiting for hopes
That will never see the light of day
I don't expect any surrender
Not even company
To drive away loneliness
Because I wouldn't ask you
For anything that I couldn't
Offer as a guarantee
It would be good
To park treacheries
Forever, amen
And feel, my friend
That in your embrace there is still time
For a breath of joy
I can't stand any longer
The relentless hypocrisy
Of ghosts trafficking
Gifts of ideologies
With impostor bidders
Of their own felonies
As you can see, I don't need
Nor vigilant decalogues
Nor truths without flaws
Nor prudent heresies
Nor flags soaked in blood
To finish off geographies
My indecency no longer allows
Such extravagant orgies
Of matter that confuses
Dreams with pornography
Reducing beauty
To the value of merchandise
Don't worry if I tell you
That my old biology
Doesn't have the strength
To continue the journey
If it's not tied to your gaze
Of mirages and poetry
