The Wanderer
I'm a poor wanderer
without a path and no direction
I'm a poor wanderer who doesn't even know where I'm going
I don't know where I came from or where I am right now
I'm lost in this world, oh how unfortunate I am
I don't know how I came into this world, nor how I was raised
They say I was very young when I became an orphan
I never knew my father, I don't even know who my mother was
My father was a bandit who died in prison
My mother a beautiful young woman who died giving birth to me
Few come into this world as unfortunate as I am
At the age of 18, I thought about starting my own home
But when I was there with my girlfriend, kneeling at the altar
Because I was a nobody, they wouldn't let us get married
So here I am, this wanderer without a path and no direction
I don't know where I came from or where I am right now
I'm lost, a child of the world, oh how unfortunate I am.
