The Merchant

I am a merchant, gentlemen
I told the authorities, I decided to retire
Let me work now, I promised my mother
And I won't let her down.

I live off my work, I can prove it to you
If I had to be a drug dealer, that's far behind
10 years in prison, I will never forget
Life has its price, you have to know how to live it
Death comes for everyone, one day it will come here
That's why I have fun, I live a happy life

Before being a merchant
Hunger came one day
That's why I had to get into it, that's why my life changed
First I ended up in jail and everything ended for me
I made very good friends, I had no problems with anyone
They have always been with me in good times and bad
Even though I am retiring, my hand counts for them
