L'aigle noir
Barbara
The Black Eagle
One beautiful day, or maybe one night
Near a lake, I had fallen asleep
When suddenly, seeming to pierce the sky
And coming from nowhere
Appeared a black eagle
Slowly, with wings spread
Slowly, I saw it circling
Near me, in a rustle of wings
As if fallen from the sky
The bird came to rest
It had eyes the color of rubies
And feathers the color of the night
On its forehead shining brightly
The crowned king bird
Wore a blue diamond
With its beak, it touched my cheek
In my hand, it slid its neck
It was then that I recognized it
Emerging from the past
It had come back to me
Tell me, bird, oh tell me, take me away
Let's return to the land of yesteryears
Like before, in my childhood dreams
To pick, trembling
Stars, stars
Like before, in my childhood dreams
Like before, on a white cloud
Like before, lighting up the sun
Being a rainmaker
And performing wonders
The black eagle in a rustle of wings
Took flight to return to the sky
Four feathers the color of the night
A tear or maybe a ruby
I was cold, I had nothing left
The bird had left me
Alone with my sorrow
One beautiful day, or maybe one night
Near a lake, I had fallen asleep
When suddenly, seeming to pierce the sky
And coming from nowhere
Appeared a black eagle
One beautiful day, one night
Near a lake, asleep
When suddenly
It came from nowhere
It appeared, the black eagle
