As Andorinhas
Barrerito
The Swallows
The swallows have returned,
And I’ve come back too,
To land in the old nest,
That I once left here.
We are like swallows,
Searching for love as we go and come,
Sometimes we return tired, hurt and wounded,
But we come back home,
Flapping our wings with great pain.
Just like the swallows, I left dreaming,
But it was all in vain,
I came back without happiness because the truth is,
A swallow flying alone,
Doesn’t bring the summer.
The swallows have returned,
And I’ve come back too,
To land in the old nest,
That I once left here.
We are like swallows,
Searching for love as we go and come,
Sometimes we return tired, hurt and wounded,
But we come back home,
Flapping our wings with great pain.
Just like the swallows, I left dreaming,
But it was all in vain,
I came back without happiness because the truth is,
A swallow flying alone,
Doesn’t bring the summer.
