Fotografia 3X4
Belchior
Passport Photo 3X4
I remember very well the day I arrived
Young man coming from the north to the big city
Feet tired and injured from walking long miles
With tears in my eyes from reading Pessoa
And seeing the green of the sugarcane
On every corner I passed, a guard would stop me
Asking for my documents and then smiling
Examining the 3x4 passport photo
And finding the name of the place I came from strange
Because what weighs in the north, by the law of gravity
Newton already knew, falls in the big southern city
Violent São Paulo, running Rio that deceives me
Copacabana, North Zone
And the cabarets of Lapa where I lived
Even living like this, I didn't forget to love
That man is for woman and the heart is to give
But the woman, the woman I loved
Couldn't follow me, no
Of these family and money matters, I never quite understood
Veloso, the sun isn't so beautiful for those who come from the north and go to live on the streets
The cold night taught me to love my day more
And through pain I discovered the power of joy
And the certainty that I have new things
New things to say
My story is perhaps
Perhaps like yours, young person who came from the north
Who lived on the streets in the south
And who was disoriented, as is common in your time
And who was disappointed, as is common in your time
And who fell in love and became violent like, like you
My story is perhaps
Perhaps like yours, young person who came from the north
Who lived on the streets in the south
And who was disoriented, as is common in your time
And who was disappointed, as is common in your time
And who fell in love and became violent like, like you
I am like you
I am like you
I am like you who listens to me now
I am like you
I am like you
I am like you
I am like you
I am like you
I am like you
