La Modelo

The Model
School, universities, blah blah blah
Suddenly spending cash to get your degree is useless
As a kid, they train you like a machine
And in this world, there's no room for feelings
They've invented attention deficit
It's not a real problem, just the purest form of curiosity
That they control with a dose of Ritalin
So the kid stays zoned out
And doesn't bother the teacher who wants to keep going and going
Brother, in this life, I really don’t know
What the hell comes next
If I’ve been dust, dust I’ll be
I don’t always laugh, but I clearly know
That in the morning, the sun shines
That making mistakes is part of getting better
That joy is based on tolerance
That if we leave, the world will bloom
And in every flower, a new home
And in every home, happy people working
If being free, they still forced me
It’s like they stifle creativity
We’re fed up with inheriting
The industrial model of education
That doesn’t respect integrity
Or a child’s brain when creating
She’s crying, can’t you see?
Her eyes shine, blood oozes from her skin
A centerpiece complex that hasn’t let us see
That the world is dying from being superficial and watching too much TV
Promoting lies and pretending to succeed in this life
These are the values that guide us, that’s why we’re heading straight for ruin
Brother, in this life, I really don’t know
What the hell comes next
If I’ve been dust, dust I’ll be
I don’t always laugh, but I clearly know
That in the morning, the sun shines
That making mistakes is part of getting better
That joy is based on tolerance
That if we leave, the world will bloom
And in every flower, a new home
And in every home, happy people working
If being free, they still forced me
It’s like they stifle creativity
We’re fed up with inheriting
The industrial model of education
That doesn’t respect integrity
Or a child’s brain when creating.
