Granada

Granada
It was a hot August, I didn't have a penny
I was going to the Pyrenees, but I stayed
They left without me, and abandoned me
My friend José hadn't forgotten me
Tomorrow we're going, buddy, both to Granada.
That night I slept little, the desire consumed me
To let the feelings loose around Granada
And I don't know what covers it with magic
Maybe it's the air of Sierra Nevada
Or that geranium fragrance from every balcony.
And I understood that I've always wanted to live
In a carmen of this city
Looking at the Alhambra, sitting in San Nicolás.
And there I understood, that it's easy to feel happy,
That I never want to leave
I already think of the day I can come back.
We went through all the bars to try their tapas
And we caught a show in some square
Sitting at the bar, a gypsy smiled at us
With golden hair and silver eyes
She told us to come tonight to El Camborio to dance.
And I understood that I've always wanted to live
In a carmen of this city
Looking at the Alhambra, sitting in San Nicolás.
And there I understood, that it's easy to feel happy,
That I never want to leave
I already think of the day I can come back.
From Sacromonte through Paseo de los Tristes
Towards Plaza Nueva through Albaicín
In Calle Elvira we go partying
If you want, we can meet there tonight...
And I understood that I've always wanted to live
In a carmen of this city
Looking at the Alhambra, sitting in San Nicolás.
And there I understood, that it's easy to feel happy,
That I never want to leave
I already think of the day I can come back.
