Teardrop

Teardrop
A single tear rolls down your cheek, as you smile through the pain.
Behind your brave face, you hide your sighs,
Your smile's clouded, trying to keep it together.
Like shattered glass that’s fallen apart,
It pierces right through me.
You can let the pain out, it’s okay.
That smile of yours, I’ve been saved by it,
I can cry just this once,
Because I’ll always be right here.
I won’t lose sight of the dawn I chased.
When I look back, lost in thought,
Even if you don’t say a word, I’ll always remember,
How you stayed right by my side,
I won’t forget that now.
Words can’t express it well enough,
But time just keeps slipping away.
That smile of yours, I’ve been saved by it,
I can cry just this once,
Because I’ll always be right here.
I’m just here, always here.
Until you lift your downcast face and smile again.
