God had to allow scarcity
For me to know that He is my provider
God had to allow illness
For me to know that He is my healer

I know I distanced myself from you because everything was going well
And today I give thanks for my trials
Because they brought me closer to you

In the process, I could understand that even though
I felt alone, you were with me
I thought I was going to die
But you appeared when I needed you the most

God had to allow the pain
For me to know that He is my comforter
God had to leave me defenseless
For me to know that He fights for me
