La Luna
Angelo Branduardi
The Moon
One day out of the blue
The moon got tired
Of watching the world from up high
She took a comet,
Veiled her face
And walked all the way down to the sky
What a surprise it was
That the white expanse
Wasn't snow.
It was just rocks
And she hurt her feet,
Crying in secret, she ran away.
You can't face the world barefoot
So from above, she kept spying.
And it's no longer a surprise
That the white expanse
Isn't snow.
