So many ballads have been written
About Tamaulipas and Texas
How many men have committed crimes
Some traffic in grass
Others in cursed powder

I'm gonna tell you a story
That will go down in history
About a famous drug dealer
Who just got taken out
His own son killed him
With no way to fix it

In Hidalgo County
He paid for all his crimes
The American government
Sent his son without knowing
To learn how to catch him
The law had five men

Arriving at the right spot
They signaled him to stop
But he refused to surrender
And managed to kill four
But when he saw his son
He raised his hands up high

There was no time to think
That young man fired
And when he was about to finish him off
He also recognized him
On his knees and crying
He shouted, "Forgive me!"

"What do you want me to forgive?"
He said before he died
"Go tell the court
That you have no crime
That the one guilty of this crime
