Adios Gallo de Oro
Los Cadetes de Linares
Goodbye Golden Rooster
November 25th, early in the morning;
My friend Vale got caught in a terrible ambush;
Along with his buddies,
When he least expected it.
There are many versions, I don’t know the truth;
But what a hard blow, for all his family,
They took down this rooster, who was just starting to sing.
The news of this singer’s death spread fast;
Everyone was shocked, asking the media,
They wanted to know the truth of what was being said.
They brought him by plane from Reynosa to Obregón,
They paid tribute, giving him a final goodbye,
From Obregón to Guasave, there was only crying and pain.
That’s how the golden rooster died, now everyone knows,
Now his remains rest in a cemetery in Guasave,
Just as he requested, next to his father.
Little town of Jitonhueca, I have to leave you now,
Goodbye to all my fans, I won’t sing for you again.
When you hear my songs,
You’ll always remember me.
Goodbye, goodbye, dear Sonora,
Rest in peace, the golden rooster.
