Camila
Last night I saw Camila, knocking on some doors
Because the garbage truck had stolen her bread
She believed those doors were made of glass
That even though they were closed, they reflected all the tears from the street
A little boy crying, waiting for bread
But his hands only carried remnants of moisture
And some grains of rice found around
They were of no use when he said to his son
My little boy, my precious, mommy's darling
My lovely boy, never forget that I love you and adore you
And then Camila remembered a song that healed the child's tears
And so, to forget the monsters and the bread, she taught him how to laugh
This great love is what makes me see the world
This great love is what compels me to sing
This great love is what makes me see the world
This great love is what compels me to sing
Last night I saw Camila counting the stars
Her little one was already sleeping peacefully
But she knew that poor people's dreams last less
And then she started shouting in the streets
I can wash some clothes, mend the sandals for any man
Prepare things, do makeup for the ladies, find the keys
Bathe the dogs, comb the cats, clean the house, kill the rats
Take the kids to school and feed them
And so Camila could solve the big problem of that day
And even if the rest of her life is the same
Her son will always hear the same song
This great love is what makes me see the world
This great love is what compels me to sing
This great love is what makes me see the world
This great love is what compels me to sing
This great love is what makes me see the world
This great love is what compels me to sing
This great love is what makes me see the world
This great love is what compels me to sing
What compels me to sing, what compels me to sing
What compels me to sing!
