El Metro
Café Tacvba
The Metro
I got on a subway car
and I haven't been able to get out of here.
I've been living here underground
for more than 3 or 4 months.
Zocalo, Hidalgo, Chabacano
I've crossed a million times.
I've wanted to exit through the door
but there's always someone pushing,
back in.
And when at night I think of you
I know you remember me,
but here trapped in this car
I don't know if I'll go out again.
Like pills, lollipops, chocolates, gums, and lifebuoys.
I already have 6 sets of needles, 8 box cutters, and lighters (to spare).
I think my hair has grown along with the beard and wrinkles.
I don't know when it's day or night
I don't know if I've been here for 100 years (inside).
And when at night I think of you
I know you remember me,
but here trapped in this car
I don't know if I'll go out again.
And there are times when I start to miss you and feel like crying,
because I can't remember your face
and I don't know if I'll kiss you again.
