The Old Man
Around 2 in the afternoon when the sun becomes unbearable in my work rounds in front of me there was an elegant driver
At a red traffic light an old man approaches
And asked him for money, get lost you filthy old man
Don't tempt me, dirty car beggar
The man raised his hand, pointed at the old man
With a firm finger, I heard I'm not playing
Go to the other side, do what I told you
He looked at him with hunger and hope in his face
For a coin but he pushed him with force
And he fell scared on the sidewalk
And anger overcame me, I turned on the blinkers
And the handbrake and even where that coward
If you're so brave, get out of the car
That guy, in a fit of anger, got out of his car
And with that cynicism, he said to me, what the hell do you want
What's your problem, what do you want with me
I told him politely, I want you to help
That poor innocent man, he replied, why do you care
Who do you think you are to order me
I said I'll do it my way because for death
Everyone is the same, if you don't help the old man up
And apologize, I'm going to kill you
With a big laugh, he said to my face
In no way am I going to stoop so low
You don't scare me and do as you wish but
His expression changed when I put a gun to his head
And I put him on his knees and shoved the gun
Into his mouth
In the middle of that street, I was sure
That I would kill him, as God is great
Almost pulling the trigger, the old man yelled don't kill him
Don't kill him, mercy for the young man he shouted and pleaded
Here I am the guilty one, I dirtied his car, it was my fault
That confused man remained silent
Upon hearing the old man, speechless, he broke down in tears
May God forgive me for what I've done, forgive me
For being inhumane, kind man, what a lesson
You have given me, thank you for what you've taught
And for the new life you've given me
