Les Feux D'Artifice
Calogero
Fireworks
I was hoisted on shoulders
Under these gigantic galaxies
I dreamed while reaching out my palms
Of being able to almost touch them
It exploded into superb flowers
In sidereal arabesques
To make bouquets of universes
I wanted to pick these stars
We used to go to fireworks
To see these stars that don't last long
That are born, that shine and then slide
Falling back towards the ocean
And it creates sea stars
It puts ephemeral constellations in children's eyes
And we remember it when we are grown
In the sky vibrating with music
I saw planets being born
Fantastic lights bursting
And showers of comets falling
I imagined myself as an admiral
Watching my fleets fly
I had admirable dreams
Under these cheap rockets
We used to go to fireworks
To see these stars that don't last long
That are born, that shine and then slide
Falling back towards the ocean
And it creates sea stars
It puts ephemeral constellations in children's eyes
And we remember it when we are grown
Then under the incandescent skies
Someone was tying my shoelaces
I saw teenagers
Far away, over there, embracing
It left long trails of pink and green in my eyes
I saw in my childhood bed
Universes on my eyelids
We are like fireworks
Since we are here for not long
Let's make sure, while we exist,
To shine in people's eyes
To offer them light
Like a passing meteor
Because, even if everything is ephemeral,
We remember it for a long time
